8th International Conference of the Cyprus Dietetic & Nutrition Association themed ‘Nutrition Findings from Around the Globe’

Dear dietitian, nutritionist and other health professional colleagues,

The 8th Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association (CyDNA) Conference with the theme   ‘Nutrition Findings from Around the Globe’ will take place in Nicosia, Cyprus in November 2014 (27-30/11/2014). We expect a participation of more than 200 dietitians and nutritionists. This will be a wonderful and multicultural encounter not only from a humanistic point of view but also because it will make possible to exchange professional experiences among dietitians from Cyprus  and abroad.

The conference will cover new challenges for dietitians and would like to make them aware that with their day-to-day work they can immensely contribute to a better world to the future generations. A sustainable diet is the key to take care of our planet: while being respectful with the environment, it also enables us to utilize new evidence based nutrition findings from around the world.

Nowadays, in many countries round the world, lots of families have to face the important economic recession prioritizing the price in their food baskets without taking in account their health or the environment protection.

We, dietitians and nutritionists, have a very crucial role in advising and educating people towards a healthy and economic nutrition that should also be sustainable. It ´s time to support each other!

For this reason, The Cyprus Dietetic and Nutrition Association has the pleasure to invite you to the 8th CyDNA Conference  so we can all approach together the main area of:  Nutrition Findings From Around the Globe!

The CyDNA supports its members and fulfills its mission by fostering and reinforcing research in human nutrition; providing opportunities for sharing, disseminating, and archiving peer-reviewed nutrition research results; fostering quality education and training in nutrition; upholding standards for ethical behavior in practice and research, the protection of humans through sound  nutrition practice, and the care and treatment of people needing nutrition intervention; providing opportunities for support among dietitians and nutritionists; and bringing scientific knowledge to bear on nutrition issues through communication and influence in the public and health domain.

This three day conference (plus the open for the public) covers subjects by an international and local faculty of experts. The subjects have been selected to give a broad and in depth overview of a number of contemporary and traditional topics in dietetics and nutrition. The conference is addressed not only to dietetic/nutrition professionals but also to physicians, trainees, nurses, and other health professionals.

The conference will offer CME/CPE hours.

On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to express our gratitude to all of our supporters for making this conference possible and the concurrent food & products exhibition.

Looking forward to seeing you at the conference and hope that you will find it educational, stimulating, with a great opportunity to network with other health professionals.

Dr Eleni P Andreou-Georgaki, RDN, DProf
